Agency Information Collection Activities; Notice and Request for Comment; Generic Clearance for the Collection of Qualitative Feedback on Agency Service Delivery
Issued by Transportation Department
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) invites public comments about our intention to request approval from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to renew with change a currently approved information collection. Before a Federal agency can collect certain information from the public, it must receive approval from OMB. Under procedures established by the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, before seeking OMB approval, Federal agencies must solicit public comment on proposed collections of information, including extensions and reinstatements of previously approved collections. This document describes a collection of information for which NHTSA intends to seek OMB approval on generic clearance for qualitative feedback on agency service delivery. This renewal request includes a modification to the information collection. Specifically, NHTSA is adding annual tracking studies for its high-visibility enforcement (HVE) campaigns (four per year) to report campaign metrics for evidence plans and additional customer satisfaction surveys. NHTSA added campaign performance metrics to the agency's annual Evidence Plan for the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to measure the success of its HVE campaigns through its media buys. Because these HVE tracking studies were not included in the previously approved fast-track reinstatement package, their inclusion results in an increase in both total annual respondents and burden hours.
