censure
A formal vote of disapproval by a chamber against one of its own members, or against another official. It carries no legal penalty.

Censure is the middle rung of legislative discipline: below expulsion, above a reprimand. A chamber may censure a member by simple majority, and the member keeps their seat, their vote, and their committees unless the resolution strips them. Censure of a President or other outside official has no constitutional basis and is purely expressive.
