Americans with Disabilities Act

The 1990 law barring disability discrimination in employment, public services, and public accommodations, and requiring reasonable accommodation and access.

Title I covers employment and requires reasonable accommodation absent undue hardship. Title II covers state and local government, including voting, transit, and courts. Title III covers private businesses open to the public. The 2008 amendments broadened the definition of disability after court decisions had narrowed it.
